SunnyTent offers various types of pool domes, each designed to fit different pool sizes and shapes. Here are the available types and their corresponding sizes for the Round SunnyTent (cross-section x top height):

Which SunnyTent is compatible with my pool?

Measuring Your Pool

To identify the ideal SunnyTent for your pool, it's essential to take accurate measurements. If you own a round swimming pool, determine both the height and the diameter. For square, oval, or rectangular pools, be sure to measure the height, width, and length. Additionally, consider any protruding elements, such as skimmers or top edges.

Utilizing the Size Information

You can find the appropriate SunnyTent size for your swimming pool by referring to our swimming pool size chart and calculator. In the event that your pool is not listed, or if you have any queries, our customer service team is happy to assist you.

How much space is required around the SunnyTent?

You should have approximately 15.75 inches of free space around the SunnyTent.

Why is this space needed? This space is essential to allow for movement around the tent. Additionally, it is required for the tent foil to rest on the ground when the tent is fully open. (Having a bit more than 15.75 inches of space at the rear is even better.)

Installation

How do I set up the SunnyTent?

Setting up the pool dome varies slightly depending on the size of your SunnyTent. Larger sizes, such as the XL, have additional poles and specific instructions for double-pole placement. For detailed instructions tailored to your specific pool dome size, please refer to our instruction videos and manuals. In general, the following steps apply to all pool dome sizes:

  • Place Locking Pegs: Arrange two locking pegs in a straight line, ensuring they are spaced at the correct distance from each other. This distance may vary based on your specific tent size.
  • Replace Locking Pegs with Hinged Anchors: Replace the two locking pegs with hinged anchors, driving them straight into the ground until the pins make contact with the ground.
  • Unfold the Tent Foil: Lay out the tent foil on the ground. Insert the poles into the connectors, ensuring they fit into the corresponding tunnels for each section of the foil.
  • Position the SunnyTent: Place the SunnyTent between the two hinged anchors. Set the pole sets on the pins of the hinged anchor, making sure they are fully placed over the pins.
  • Raise the SunnyTent: Lift the SunnyTent upward until it forms a complete circle. To evenly distribute the tent foil between the poles, gently shake the tent both horizontally and vertically.
  • Secure with Twisting Pegs: Use twisting pegs to firmly secure the tent in place. Be cautious to avoid damaging the foil during this step.
  • Attach the Guy Line: Attach the guy line and open the SunnyTent.

For detailed instructions tailored to your specific pool dome size, please consult our instruction videos and manuals to ensure a successful setup.

What do I need for a proper SunnyTent assembly?

Assembling a SunnyTent can be accomplished by two people.

Requirements:

  • A tape measure
  • A solid hammer

Assembly Tips:

  • Early Setup: If possible, consider setting up your SunnyTent before installing your pool. This sequence can streamline the process and make it more convenient.
  • Weather Conditions: Opt for a day with minimal or no wind when setting up the SunnyTent. This will facilitate a smoother assembly process.
  • Hard Surface Installation: If you plan to position the SunnyTent on a hard surface, you can do so with our hard surface kit. For detailed instructions on installing on hard surfaces, consult the provided installation manual.

Can the SunnyTent be installed on a hard surface?

Yes, the SunnyTent can indeed be placed on a paved or hard surface. However, it's important to ensure that the SunnyTent is securely anchored to the ground using a hard surface installation kit.

To determine if you require this kit and for detailed guidance on installation on a hard surface, please refer to the provided manual.

How do I install the SunnyTent on a marshy or very soft surface?

Installing the SunnyTent on a marshy or very soft surface can be challenging.

Here's a step-by-step guide to address this issue:

Extra-Long Twist Pegs: Consider using extra-long twist pegs available in our webshop. These pegs go deeper into the ground and may offer better stability. If this doesn't suffice, proceed to the next step.

Use Pipes or Tubes:

  1. Obtain pieces of pipe or tube that are approximately 28 in long with a diameter of roughly 20 in.
  2. Insert these pipes vertically into the ground at the locations where the hinged anchors, twist pegs, and cross pole set need to be anchored in the ground.
  3. Fill these tubes to the top with gravel. Follow the gravel with fine-grained sand. Slowly pour water into the pipes to ensure the sand fills all the gaps and crevices between the gravel. It's important to ensure that each tube is completely filled.
  4. Let the contents of the tubes dry for approximately two days. After the drying period, you can securely install the hinged anchors, twist pegs, and cross pole set into these prepared tubes.

By following these steps, you can firmly anchor the hinged anchors, twist pegs, and cross pole set into the ground, thereby stabilizing the SunnyTent on a marshy or very soft surface.

What is the SunnyTent made of?

The SunnyTent is constructed using durable materials to ensure its strength and resilience in various weather conditions:

  • Tent Foil: The tent foil consists of an eight-layer PE film that is fused into a single, thick layer. This type of foil is commonly used in professional horticulture, which attests to its durability and strength.
  • Pole Sets: The pole sets of the SunnyTent are made of 12.7 mm thick fiberglass, making them exceptionally robust. The slight flexibility of fiberglass poles makes them ideal for handling various conditions.

Weather Resistance:

  • Full Sun: The SunnyTent is highly resistant to sunlight, thanks to its eight-layer PE film. This material is also utilized in professional horticulture and can withstand the intense sun exposure typical of southern Europe.
  • Hail: Regular hail is generally not a concern for the SunnyTent. However, extremely severe hailstorms, such as those that lead to significant destruction, can potentially damage the tent.
  • Strong Wind: The SunnyTent can endure strong winds, but it is advisable to fully open the tent in very windy conditions and storms. The tent's wind resistance depends on its size, model, and placement. If the tent is located in a sheltered area, it can handle higher wind forces than if it is in an open field. In extreme situations without folding down the tent, a pole set may break.
  • Winter: The materials used in the SunnyTent are winter-resistant. However, in the presence of snow or sleet, it's important to temporarily fold the tent open or down to prevent the weight from causing the tent to bend or collapse. The good news is that snow or debris won't contaminate your pool during snowy conditions.

Extra Support with Cross Pole Set:

For the SunnyTent Round size L, placing it in a very open and windy location may necessitate the purchase of a cross pole set. This accessory provides additional strength, even in light snow or sleet conditions.

Point of Interest for SunnyTent Round L+ and XL:

SunnyTent Round L+ and XL come with a cross pole set included. Due to their larger size, these tents are more susceptible to wind and snow/ice, making them less suitable for windy or exposed locations. Additionally, they should not be used during autumn or winter.

What is the life expectancy of the SunnyTent?

The life expectancy of the SunnyTent can vary based on how it is used and stored. Here are some general guidelines:

Up All Year Round: If you leave the SunnyTent up and in use throughout the entire year, you can typically expect it to last approximately three to five years.

Store Clean and Dry Between Seasons: To prolong the life of the SunnyTent, it's advisable to store it in a clean and dry condition during the autumn or when not in use. When stored properly, the SunnyTent can have a longer lifespan, typically lasting five to seven years.

The actual life expectancy of your SunnyTent may vary depending on factors like climate, usage, and maintenance. Proper care and storage can contribute to extending its durability.

How long is the warranty on the SunnyTent?

The SunnyTent is covered by a two-year full warranty. For additional details and terms and conditions, please refer to our Warranty Policy.

Does the SunnyTent offer protection for young children or pets?

A securely closed SunnyTent can make it more difficult for small children or animals to access the swimming pool area.

No Guarantee:

It's important to note that the SunnyTent is not designed for the specific purpose of preventing small children or animals from entering your pool area. Therefore, it does not offer a guarantee in this regard. Always exercise caution and supervision to ensure the safety of small children and animals around your pool.

What is the best way to disassemble and store the SunnyTent?

For a proper disassembly and storage of the SunnyTent, follow these steps, reversing the installation process:

Quick Disassembly Instruction:

  1. Begin by removing the twist pegs and gently lower the tent to the ground.
  2. Unhook the pole sets from the hinged anchors.
  3. Level the tent so that the pole sets are straight, and then remove them from the pole tunnels. It's important not to pull the pole sets, as this could cause the pole parts to come apart. Instead, push the pole set forward with one hand while holding the pole tunnel with the other hand. Repeat this process until the pole set is completely removed from the pole tunnel. You can also refer to our video demonstration for additional guidance.
  4. Before folding and storing the tent, ensure that it is cleaned and thoroughly dried using a soft cloth.
  5. Additionally, clean and dry the pole sets, hinged anchors, and pegs.

Important Note: Always store your SunnyTent in a frost-free and dry location with a maximum temperature of 86°F. Avoid placing the SunnyTent near heating pipes or other heat sources, as this could potentially cause some tent materials to shrink or melt.

What is the best way to clean the SunnyTent?

Cleaning the SunnyTent is important to maintain its transparency and cleanliness, especially if it remains outside for an extended period, such as from early spring to late autumn or even during the winter. It may accumulate dirt like green deposits, sand, and dust on the outside.

Cleaning Materials: To clean your tent, you should use a soft sponge and cold water. Avoid using a hard brush, high-pressure jet, scouring pad, or any other abrasive tools, as they can potentially damage the tent foil. Additionally, refrain from using chemical cleaning agents, as they can harm the seams. If your tent is very dirty, you can add a small amount of natural soap to the water.

Cleaning Process:

  1. Start by cleaning only the outside of the tent foil, not the inside, as the inside generally does not get very dirty, and cleaning it may remove the anti-condensation layer on the foil.
  2. Ensure the tent is fully closed and secured with twist pegs in the ground.
  3. Begin by cleaning the tent layers that are easily accessible. These are typically the two tent layers at the front and the two at the rear. Let's call these lanes 1, 2, 5, and 6.
  4. After cleaning the accessible layers, you will be left with the two tent layers on top of the tent that are not easily reached, known as lanes 3 and 4.
  5. Detach the tent on one side by turning the twist peg counter-clockwise to remove the tent poles from underneath. One person should hold the open side in the middle, while the second person pulls down the tent on the other side. This action allows you to access and clean lane 3. Repeat this process with two other people, one on each side of the tent.
  6. Once lane 3 is cleaned, you can move on to clean layer 4 by following the same procedure on the opposite side of the tent.

By following these steps, you can effectively clean your SunnyTent and maintain its appearance and functionality.

Does the SunnyTent really work that well, and how is it possible?

Heating Your Swimming Pool with the SunnyTent:

Yes, the SunnyTent is highly effective at heating your swimming pool. From mid-May to the end of August, it is common for the temperature inside the tent to rarely drop below 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Consequently, the water temperature typically reaches 77 degrees or higher during this period, all without the use of additional heating equipment. Please note that the actual temperature achieved depends on the climate and environment in your specific location.

How the SunnyTent Works:

The SunnyTent operates on the same principles as a greenhouse. In horticultural greenhouses, the interior temperature is typically much higher than the exterior temperature, especially during the mentioned period. Several factors influence how quickly the water heats up in the SunnyTent, including:

  • Sunlight: The more sunshine, the warmer it becomes inside the SunnyTent, leading to faster water heating.
  • Water Volume: The quantity of water and its initial temperature also play a role in the heating process.

To better understand the average temperature achieved in the SunnyTent, you can review the measurements taken by our customers, providing real-world insights into its effectiveness.

Is the SunnyTent wind resistant?

The SunnyTent exhibits good wind resistance, as demonstrated in a video of the tent withstanding strong winds. However, it's advisable to fold down or fully open the SunnyTent during very high winds. For the round SunnyTent, this process takes approximately 2 minutes. You can raise or close the SunnyTent once the wind subsides. Please consult the manual for specific instructions on using your SunnyTent.

The wind strength at which you should fold down or open the SunnyTent depends on the tent's size and the exposure of the location where it is placed. If the tent is situated in a sheltered area, it can withstand higher wind forces than if it's in an open field. In general, when placed in a sheltered area, the SunnyTent Round L typically requires folding open only rarely.

Extra Strength with the Cross Pole Set:

If you plan to install the SunnyTent Round size L in a more windy or exposed location, it is recommended to consider purchasing a cross pole set. This accessory provides additional strength to your SunnyTent. It's important to note that, even with the cross pole set, the SunnyTent may not withstand all wind strengths, but it can handle more wind than without the cross pole set.

Sensitivity of SunnyTent Round L+ and XL to Wind:

SunnyTent Round L+ and XL models come with a cross pole set included. Due to their larger sizes, these tents are more sensitive to wind and are, therefore, less suitable for windy and exposed locations. It is advisable to always open them during windy conditions for safety.

Can I leave the SunnyTent outside during winter?

Winter Resistance:

The materials used in the SunnyTent are indeed winter-resistant. However, it's important to be aware that when snow or sleet is anticipated, you should temporarily fold the SunnyTent completely open. Failing to do so may result in the tent collapsing under the weight of accumulated snow or ice. The good news is that when it snows or hails, there's typically minimal debris like leaves falling into your pool, so the pool remains clean even when the tent is temporarily folded down. For specific instructions on how to use your SunnyTent during winter, please refer to the manual.

Extra Support with Cross Pole Set:

Using a cross pole set can provide additional strength for the SunnyTent when dealing with light snow and sleet. However, it's important to note that the SunnyTent is not designed to handle substantial amounts of snow or ice. Nevertheless, with the cross pole set, the tent can manage more snow or sleet compared to not using this accessory.

SunnyTent Round L+ and XL:

The SunnyTent Round L+ and XL models are equipped with a cross pole set included. Due to their larger sizes, these tents are more sensitive to wind, snow, and ice. As a result, they are less suitable for windy and exposed locations and should not be used during the winter.
