Round Pool Domes

Looking for a pool dome? The round pool cover from SunnyTent is perfect for both round and rectangular pools, even inground ones. The SunnyTent serves as both a pool cover and pool heater in one. This means that dirt won't get into the water, and the water will be heated. At SunnyTent, we offer various sizes of round SunnyTents, with the most popular size being the SunnyTent Round L. If you have a large rectangular pool, opt for the oval SunnyTent. You can check which size SunnyTent fits your pool by using our size chart.

The SunnyTent is made of high-quality materials. The tent fabric is made of three-layer PE foil that is fused into one piece. This thick foil is also used in professional horticulture and is highly resistant to the sun. Additionally, the pole sets are made from strong fiberglass from Germany. The pool dome is entirely produced in Europe and meets European production standards.

The Benefits of a Round Pool Tent

The round pool cover from SunnyTent is the ideal way to cover your pool and keep it warm. No more cold or dirty swimming water! These are not the only benefits of the round pool tent. One of the other advantages is that the SunnyTent does not consume any energy to heat the water, meaning no energy costs! Furthermore, the round pool cover helps retain the water's heat, and you can enjoy it from spring to autumn. Because the cover is over the pool, it keeps the water clean, reducing the need to change the water as often, which saves you liters of water. You can keep the water extra clean using chlorine and other cleaning products.

When Can You Start Swimming with the SunnyTent?

Do you feel the urge to swim as soon as spring rolls around? So do we! With the SunnyTent round pool cover, you can extend your swimming season over several months. Typically, you can start swimming as early as April. Of course, it varies from year to year, but by then, there is usually no severe frost, and the temperature outside is between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. The SunnyTent functions like a horticultural greenhouse. From April to September, the average temperature inside a greenhouse is 25°C, so you can enjoy your pool or jacuzzi cover until September!

Ordering a Round Pool Cover from SunnyTent

The round pool cover from SunnyTent is stable in the wind. However, where you place the SunnyTent affects its wind resistance. If the tent is placed in a sheltered area, it can withstand stronger winds compared to when it is in an open space. In case of very strong winds or storms, be sure to fold the round pool tent in to ensure it stays intact. For added stability, we recommend using the cross pole set.

Are you planning to leave the pool tent up during the winter? This is possible, as the materials are winter-resistant. However, we recommend folding the SunnyTent if there is snow or ice, so the tent doesn’t bend under the weight of snow. For the larger sizes of the SunnyTent, we advise against leaving them outside during the winter. Due to its size, the tent remains vulnerable, even with a cross pole set. You can find more information in our manuals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a SunnyTent?

A SunnyTent pool dome is a type of cover designed to enclose and protect an outdoor swimming pool. It is essentially a transparent dome-shaped structure that can be placed over a swimming pool to provide a range of benefits. Here are some of the benefits of using a SunnyTent:

  • Extended Swimming Season: The primary benefit of a pool dome is that it extends the swimming season. By creating a controlled environment, it helps to keep the pool water warmer, allowing you to use your pool earlier in the spring and later in the fall.
  • Increased Water Temperature: The dome's transparent foil allows sunlight to enter and trap heat, raising the water temperature inside the pool. This can reduce the need for heating systems, saving on energy costs.
  • Reduced Maintenance: A pool dome helps keep leaves, debris, and insects out of the pool, reducing the amount of time and effort required for cleaning and maintenance.
  • Energy Efficiency: By using the SunnyTent, the pool water is heated naturally. No more need for gas heaters and no more heating costs.
  • Aesthetics: Pool domes can enhance the appearance of your pool area, making it a more attractive and inviting space.
  • Weather Protection: A pool dome provides shelter from wind and rain, allowing you to use the pool in less-than-ideal conditions.

Can the SunnyTent be installed on a hard surface?

Yes, the SunnyTent can indeed be placed on a paved or hard surface. However, it's important to ensure that the SunnyTent is securely anchored to the ground using a hard surface installation kit. To determine if you require this kit and for detailed guidance on installation on a hard surface, please refer to the provided manual.

Does the SunnyTent really work that well, and how is it possible?

Heating Your Swimming Pool with the SunnyTent:

Yes, the SunnyTent is highly effective at heating your swimming pool. From mid-May to the end of August, it is common for the temperature inside the tent to rarely drop below 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Consequently, the water temperature typically reaches 77 degrees or higher during this period, all without the use of additional heating equipment. Please note that the actual temperature achieved depends on the climate and environment in your specific location.

How the SunnyTent Works:

The SunnyTent operates on the same principles as a greenhouse. In horticultural greenhouses, the interior temperature is typically much higher than the exterior temperature, especially during the mentioned period. Several factors influence how quickly the water heats up in the SunnyTent, including:

  • Sunlight: The more sunshine, the warmer it becomes inside the SunnyTent, leading to faster water heating.
  • Water Volume: The quantity of water and its initial temperature also play a role in the heating process.

To better understand the average temperature achieved in the SunnyTent, you can review the measurements taken by our customers, providing real-world insights into its effectiveness.

How do I set up the SunnyTent?

Setting up the pool dome varies slightly depending on the size of your SunnyTent. Larger sizes, such as the XL, have additional poles and specific instructions for double-pole placement. For detailed instructions tailored to your specific pool dome size, please refer to our instruction videos and manuals. In general, the following steps apply to all pool dome sizes:

  1. Place Locking Pegs: Arrange two locking pegs in a straight line, ensuring they are spaced at the correct distance from each other. This distance may vary based on your specific tent size.
  2. Replace Locking Pegs with Hinged Anchors: Replace the two locking pegs with hinged anchors, driving them straight into the ground until the pins make contact with the ground.
  3. Unfold the Tent Foil: Lay out the tent foil on the ground. Insert the poles into the connectors, ensuring they fit into the corresponding tunnels for each section of the foil.
  4. Position the SunnyTent: Place the SunnyTent between the two hinged anchors. Set the pole sets on the pins of the hinged anchor, making sure they are fully placed over the pins.
  5. Raise the SunnyTent: Lift the SunnyTent upward until it forms a complete circle. To evenly distribute the tent foil between the poles, gently shake the tent both horizontally and vertically.
  6. Secure with Twisting Pegs: Use twisting pegs to firmly secure the tent in place. Be cautious to avoid damaging the foil during this step.
  7. Attach the Guy Line: Attach the guy line and open the SunnyTent.
